I blink and I swear, July and August have come and gone. A month of schedule changes, travel and moving is over. Do you ever have those months where you just have to tuck your head down and make it through the ride? That was July. And August.
And I hope that’s not September.
About midway through July, I pulled the blog down so I could just have a break from it. I needed a creative purge. I needed time to just not think about it. Which made me realize that I needed something to change.
Ever since I went back to work full time in June, I’ve been busy. Adjusting to full time work has been hard (but I’m so grateful for it) and the changes between training times (3-midnight) to my shift (6:45-3:45) has been hard on the mind and body. But I love it at the same time. My job is so different than anything I would have imagined for myself, and I feel good doing it.
But since I went back to full time, I started digging through old blog posts – both my own and on other websites, realizing that I miss talking about career things. It was the first time I’d had a full time job in several months and that’s an adjustment.
I miss talking about writing tips, career things, and everything I felt like talking about. When I made that transition strictly to “organizing for creatives” in April, it was the idea that I’d rebuild the blog and start all over.
But now I realized I painted myself into a corner with that. I’m a human, I have multiple interests and passions and I’m sure you do, too.
I want Ginger & Co. to be a place where you can find information and advice on multiple things in your life, not just how to organize your apps. I want this to be a place for every aspect of your life. There’s almost a key part that I’m missing from my own blog lately: me.
It’s all information and tips, but nothing really about Laura. And at the end of the day, all of this advice and information comes from living my life as me. So in the next few months, there’ll be more posts, but covering a larger topic of ideas.
Oh, and if you’re looking to boost your writing resume, Ginger & Co. is now accepting guest posts, which you can apply for here.
